Developer Avocados 🥑 Weekly - Issue 3
Developer Avocados 🥑 Weekly
This job is all the best parts of going to college - in which Heidi tries to convince people Developer Relations is basically "like all the best parts of college. Go to lecture, cram your brain full, talk to brilliant people... then take everything you learned and synthesise it and tell other people". And you can do this too, without going to 40 conferences a year! There were also a few good twitter threads this week about devrelling remote, without having to cope with all that travel.
The Care and Feeding of Your Conference Speakers - this article from Jen Looper is an appeal from a seasoned Developer Avocado who criss-crosses the world giving technical talks and leading workshops at conferences. If you are organising conferences or other events, this post should give you some ideas about how to care for your speakers.
Why Do You Write and Blog? Why Do You Talk at Conferences? - in which Uri Shaked shares his reasons for writing, blogging and speaking at conferences. Our favourite were meeting inspiring people, making friends and inspiring others. Fine, we'll admit, we loved the travel photos as well 😅
